Lock repairs and new lock installation

A lock that needs a shove, a lift or a jiggle is telling you something. Usually it is the door or the frame that has moved, not the lock that has failed — and replacing hardware without fixing alignment just moves the problem.

What we check before quoting a replacement

  • Door alignment, hinge wear and frame movement.
  • Strike plate position and latch engagement depth.
  • Cylinder wear, key wear and spring return.
  • Weather exposure and corrosion on external hardware.

Choosing hardware

We fit locks from ranges that are readily available in Australia so that future keys, cylinders and spare parts can be sourced by any locksmith — not only by us.

Where a lock carries a manufacturer warranty, we register or pass on the documentation to you. Our own workmanship warranty is set out on the warranty page.

What we will not do

We will not fit a heavy security lock to a door or frame that cannot carry it. In that case the honest answer is that the door needs work first, and we will tell you that rather than sell you hardware that gives false confidence.

Questions we are asked

My key is getting harder to turn. Is that urgent?
It is worth acting on. Stiffness usually gets worse and often ends with a key snapping in the cylinder, which costs more to resolve.
Do you supply the locks, or can I buy my own?
Either. If you supply the hardware we will install it, but the manufacturer warranty on the product stays with your purchase.
